Giboshi (since1868)
A moment to unwind in the city.
Giboshi (since1868), a Kyoto delicatessen, offers an elegant assortment of arare rice crackers called fuki-yose, as well as fried kelp and other kelp products. Choose a treat for yourself or something to give as a gift.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
The fuki-yose assortment of arare rice crackers is one of the first things to look for at Giboshi (since1868). Described as having an elegant flavour, it is enjoyed as a snack and also chosen as a gift. One customer who bought a small packet said the kelp inside left a particularly strong impression. Choose a small portion to try, or a tin for a present, depending on the occasion.
Fried kelp is another option. Some people have enjoyed it with drinks, while others found it quite salty and said it worked well in cooking. Consider whether you would prefer it as a snack or as an ingredient at the table.
The shop also offers kelp for making dashi, kelp sweets and kelp tea. Alongside snacks, you can browse for products to use in everyday cooking or enjoy with a cup of tea.
